BRAVO BANDAIDTHE ROAD BACK

A VETERAN. A CAMPER. A WAY FORWARD.

THE ROAD
BACK.

Building a camper.
Rebuilding myself.

I’m James, an Army veteran and former medic. I’m building a camper so my service dog, Liberty, and I can get back out into the world—and connect with veterans along the way.

01 / THE STORY

A callsign.
A way forward.

I’m James Langley, a U.S. Army veteran and former medic. Bravo Bandaid was my callsign. Now it’s the name of the life I’m working to rebuild.

PTSD made my world smaller. The Road Back is my way of getting back out into it: building a camper, traveling with Liberty, my service dog, and finding connection beyond the walls of home.

The plan is to travel to veteran events, meet other veterans, and highlight organizations and resources that help our community. The camper makes that travel possible. The reason for building it is bigger than the truck.

I’m moving forward one step at a time, with or without sponsorship—and sharing the work, setbacks, and progress honestly.

02 / THE CAMPER PROJECT

Built by hand.
With a reason.

The camper is the starting point. The bigger goal is a life with more connection, more open space, and somewhere new to go. See the construction journal ↓

Build the camper

A custom camper for my 2021 Toyota Tundra, already under construction. The floor is complete, both lower side walls/framing are up, and the lower plywood sides are installed. The door has been picked up and is ready for fitting.

Real wood. Real progress.

The camper’s shape is coming together. The latest photos show the standing frame, the side-wall work, and more plywood and lumber for the build. One step at a time, with or without sponsorship.

The floor, the framing, and the first fit.

Construction is underway. These photos show the insulated floor, lower wall framing, and the camper base sitting in the Tundra. There’s still plenty to build, but the project is now taking shape in wood.

THE BUILD / DESIGN REFERENCE

The direction ahead.

A custom camper for the 2021 Toyota Tundra, built around life on the road with Liberty.

Concept mockup of a black 2021 Toyota Tundra with a dark cab-over camper and mountain graphics.
Design concept only—not a photo of the current build. The final build will evolve as measurements, materials, clearances, and construction details come together. The planned entry is at the rear of the camper.

Room to rest.

The camper will use a compact cab-over sleeping area with rear entry and a layout focused on maximizing usable interior space.

Make every space work.

The short cab-over and rear entry keep the camper compact while leaving the side walls available for windows, storage, and usable interior space.

Major systems such as the battery bank, electrical equipment, and storage will be integrated beneath seating, benches, cabinets, and other usable furniture rather than consuming dedicated floor space.

The exterior direction is black and understated to match the Tundra, with subtle Bravo Bandaid branding and mountain graphics. These are design goals for a build in progress, not a final blueprint.

03 / NEVER TRAVELING ALONE

Liberty sitting in the passenger seat, ears perked and wearing her tan harness.
BY MY SIDE.

OUT IN THE WORLD.

Meet Liberty.

A constant companion on The Road Back.

Liberty is my PTSD service dog and part of this journey from the start. The camper project and the road ahead include both of us.

Liberty is part of the travel and outreach story: the miles between stops, the veteran events, and everyday life on the road. Her comfort and practical needs are part of the build, from the layout to life on the road.

04 / COME ABOARD

The mission comes first.
The build moves forward.

I’m building The Road Back with or without sponsorship. Partners and community support can help me move it forward, but this mission isn’t waiting for anyone’s approval. If you want to be part of it, come aboard.

For Brands & Partners

I’m building a custom Tundra camper for travel, veteran outreach, and life on the road with Liberty. I welcome practical support—from materials and equipment to expertise—that becomes part of the actual build and journey.

Where your work could fit

  • Materials
  • Power / electrical
  • Ventilation / climate
  • Water / plumbing
  • Security / cameras
  • Outdoor living
  • Mobility / e-bikes
  • Liberty / pet travel
  • Apparel
  • Media / content gear

What a partnership can include

  • Installation, setup, and practical product-use content.
  • Social posts, short-form video, and YouTube build or travel integrations.
  • Website recognition, agreed logos and links, and tagged acknowledgments.
  • Photos, video, and honest feedback from long-term use.
  • Product visibility through the rig and content at veteran and travel events.

Product selection, deliverables, timing, and event participation are agreed together to fit the build. Recognition is reserved for confirmed partners.

Home Base + Mobile Security

Security is going to be important both at home and on the road. I want to be able to monitor my home base while traveling and also build a flexible security setup into the camper, including exterior camera positions that provide visibility while I’m inside sleeping or away from the truck.
